Why Pica?
We wanted to pull together a little bit of tradition with new technology. That's why we are Pica.
A pica, (pie-ca), is a unit of measure in typography. It corresponds always to 1/72 of its respective foot and so to 1/6 inch. There are 12 points in the pica.
Amanda Olivio, our Managing Partner and Creative Director said, “I have formally studied graphic design and typography at The University of the Arts, in Philadelphia, PA. Although my life is now purely digital, I attribute my formal type and layout design training to my success today... so I wanted to keep a little piece of that in the forefront of my business image.”
Who are “we”?
Nice to meet you...
I'm Amanda Olivio, Pica Solutions’ Managing Partner and Creative Director, and my one passion is the web. Sometimes I wonder how I could be so lucky to have such a great job. It changes every day and there is constantly something new and different to experience.
As a Graphic Design graduate from UArts, I have six years of experience in online and layout design. But the technology grabs me. For some reason, I just get it. I'm passionate about what I do and I have a lot of heart invested. I have helped many local businesses create an identity for themselves through logo design, print collateral, signage, website design, advertising creation and search engine optimization. I can help you, too.
Now, meet Jeff, Pica’s Account Services Director …
I’m Jeff DiDomenico. I am a Marketing graduate from Temple University. I have three years of experience in the financial industry, two years in client relations and three years in sales. Some time ago Amanda laid out an idea for a company she thought could be successful in the Philadelphia area. As a person interested in running a business for myself, I agreed to partner with her to bring her plan to life. While Amanda performs most of the tasks essential to a successful Web services company, I handle the other functions necessary to run a successful small business.
